One of my sporting heroes from my days of playing football in my youth passed away today at the age of 57.
During the 70’s when I was beginning to get interested in football, it was the likes of Hughes, Keegan, Dalglish and Toshack that got me interested in Liverpool and ultimately football (though I grew up to support Tottenham).
He played for England over 60 times and was one of the best captains that Liverpool ever had.
I also remember him from a UK show called Question of Sport where he showed that he was down to earth and an honest person with a great smile.

He will be sadly missed by those who knew him. My condolences to his family and close friends.
