First off, congratulations to Chelsea on winning the championship in their centenary year. And for Frank Lampard to get both goals just made it even better.
Frank Lampard is one of those players who holds his club badge close to his heart and he throughly deserved both goals which were excellently taken.
At the other end of the table, Portsmouth suffered a 2 goal defeat at the hands of Manchester City. They looked nervous throughout the match and didn’t really look like winning throughout the match. They are still not 100% safe but a point from their last match would guarentee them another season in the Premiership.
Now Gillingham on the other hand were held to a 1 – 1 draw with Cardiff, a result that guarentees Cardiffs survival in the Championship next season. Gillingham on the other hand have to win their last match against already relegated Nottingham Forrest, or if they lose or draw, it will depend on the results of the teams around them.
So my three teams, (all of them the Blues), have given me a mix of different feelings today. I’m overjoyed at Chelsea winning, but fearful that my home town team of Gillingham are not quite safe just yet. I am confident that Portsmouth will survive.
